What value do you want to provide your reader with this ebook? This is an essential factor to keep in mind. You will not gain customers for your product or even future sales if you fill your ebook with irrelevant content. Be as specific as possible.
What are you trying to teach them? Maybe, the basics of the internet? The basics of owning or running an online business? You need to know exactly what you are trying to teach them. This all boils down to your research. You need to do your research about your audience and niche before you start creating a product such as an ebook.
What topic are you thinking of covering? To what level of detail do you want to describe your topic? What I mean by that is; you need to know if it is going to be an overview, or a theory, or an in-depth description. You need to figure out how exactly you want to carry this information across to the reader. It is never as easy as sitting down and writing a one million dollar ebook.
In very rare cases an ebook will do well after being written without any backing such as research and careful planning. On the other hand, an ebook is not heart surgery, you can write a good ebook with a decent amount of effort. Doing your research the correct way the first time around, allows you to then base other products off of that ebook.
You spend a lot of time and effort on this one ebook, and if it is very good, you can use that ebook as a guide to other products in your chosen niche or market. You need to also ask yourself exactly what you are trying to convey. Is it a corporate style book? Is it a humorous book? You would not want to write a corporate style book and hope that it does well in a younger audience.
The next and very important thing you need to keep in mind is who are you trying to portray? What are you basing your book off of? Rags to riches, massive breakthrough? You need to keep all these factors in mind as you go on with your ebook.
When you are done with your ebook, go back and read it. Have some of your friends read it and provide feedback or places to improve. In order to be good at product creation, you need to be open to criticism.
