So subscribers get your emails, and they take actions. The autoresponder can move them to different lists. If the customer doesn’t make any action, they can move him to a different list. If the customer wishes to unsubscribe the autoresponder can handle unsubscribing them and maintaining your unsubscribe list all automatically.
Why is it important to send emails out regularly. Well back in the day when email first got started, it was dying. “You’ve got mail.” Well, now it’s been “you’ve got spam.” People get hundreds and hundreds of emails a day, many of which are ads or just outright spam for your email to stand out.
Not only do you have to have a great title and great content, but you also have to have consistency. You are sending the emails to that customer, to that subscriber at a rate where you cut through all of those emails and get them to open it.
How did this all work?
Will you write the email series? You have to determine how many emails you want to send out in this series. Is this a daily email? Is this a twice a week email?
Is this an email just because they signed up for a particular product. What kind of emails series are you sending out? You write the email, and then you schedule the email, and the autoresponder handles the rest. If you’re collecting the subscriber’s name on your list, the autoresponder can send a personal email to them using their first name in the email header.
They can even change it to include a greeting that’s appropriate for the season. Be it a holiday or a particular time of the year. Autoresponders also give you a great ability to track statistics about your emails. Things like, which emails are opened and which emails are deleted.
The sophistication even goes so far as being able to tell you how long somebody was on the email before they clicked away. Now with much power comes much responsibility if you blast out bad emails to your subscribers you’re going to upset them. They’re going to unsubscribe, and even worse they’re probably going to turn you in as being a spammer, or they’re going to complain.
And that’s going to limit your ability to be successful with your autoresponder. And could get your autoresponder account blocked, shut off, or could get you blacklisted on various email platforms like Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail.
You need to make sure that you have something valuable to say. Your emails need to contain content that is relevant to your audience. So what kind of autoresponder do you want to use? Depends on what your particular needs are. Some of them are very, very sophisticated and they are expensive because of that.
Some of them are less expensive and less sophisticated. And there are lots of them in the middle.
