Throughout this article, we are going to cover a few questions and benefits of hiring a business coach. Before we get into this, I am a business coach. My purpose with this blog was not to get you to hire me as your coach.

Different businesses call for different types of coaches, and we will look into that a bit more during the article. Here are four main reasons why I would recommend hiring a business coach.

Holding you accountable to you.

As an entrepreneur and businessman for the last 30 + years of my career, I have helped and supported business growth. Even if you are self-motivated, highly productive, self-disciplined, all the good qualities that make a good business owner, you still need someone to keep you on track. You need someone who can keep you on the right trajectory of where you are headed in your company. Basically, he or she will keep you accountable to your goals.

Push you

In this aspect, you want someone who is going to pull you out of your own head. Whether you are a start-up, Intermediate, or experienced business owner, you know that there are a lot of ups and downs in business. Even I have had a lot of different successes and plenty of different failures. If you don’t have someone there to “be your therapist”, then you are going to have a hard time.  I am not saying you should hire a business coach to be your therapist, but what they will do for you, is tell you to get everything together. They will motivate you to keep working even if the odds seem stacked against you.

Achieved your goals already.

There is nothing better than finding a coach who has already achieved what you want to achieve as a business owner. This is what my coaching is based on as well, and for good reason. Who would you want as a coach between someone who has not reached your goals, or a person that has achieved what you want to achieve many times? It is pretty simple; if you want to run a multi-million dollar business, don’t go hire a coach who has only run a hundred thousand dollar business. If you want to run a hundred thousand dollar business, don’t hire a start-up coach. I strongly recommend doing your research.

Knowledge, experience, and connections.

Have you ever noticed how all video games are focused on one particular goal? And that goal is to level-up. That is the exact same goal as a business. If you stagnate in your business, you will fall behind and eventually be closing your doors. In business, the key to leveling up is being able to be around other successful people. You need them to help make the appropriate connections, when you need something specific done, they should have a list of people you can go to. You want to steal their knowledge, experience, successes, and failures.

These are my four main reasons I believe that any business should hire a coach. As mentioned earlier, not every coach is able to provide value to a business. Do your research, ask questions, and be sure that the success you want is the success they have already achieved.
